Jaguar Land Rover reported that its global sales for the second quarter of its 2027 fiscal year, ending September 30, rose 6% compared to the same period last year.
Globally, the automaker sold a total of 161,400 units across both wholesale and retail orders compared to 151,526 units in Q2 2026, according to its Oct. 3 release.
Its only regions of sales growth were its domestic market of the U.K. as well as Europe and a general Overseas region.
North America saw a modest increase and now accounts for a third of the automaker’s total wholesale volume, but China sales “remain challenging,” said JLR in a statement. This was exacerbated by the end of the automaker’s CJLR vehicle production joint venture with Chery Automobile in June.
Also, wholesales in the Middle East have been impacted by “ongoing disruption,” but retail volumes “indicate underlying demand is still strong,” said JLR in the release.
Sales of the company’s Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender SUVs comprised 77.6% of total wholesale volumes for the quarter, up from 76.7% a year earlier.
Sales of Jaguar’s last remaining gasoline models plummeted ahead of the launch of the brand’s Type 01 EV, which looks to the U.S. for sales growth.
