Jaguar Land Rover confirmed it has paused production of some vehicle lines at its Solihull manufacturing plant in the UK following a fire at a supplier’s facility.
This plant is the long-time home of Range Rover vehicles, although the automaker did not say which specific models will be affected.
The story, first published in the Financial Times, said a fire at a supplier’s plant in Norway will cause a two-week suspension of production lasting until April 8.
“We are working closely with that supplier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and minimize any impact on our clients or our operations,” JLR said in an emailed statement to WardsAuto.
This is the first major disruption to the company’s production site since last year’s cyberattack.
It’s worth noting that the pause in production coincides with the Easter holiday shutdown each year, so the disruption will be less than the two-week period quoted by several media outlets.
