President Trump’s tariff policies in his first 100 days have created havoc in the auto industry. But more than the havoc of the tariffs themselves are the disruptions and headaches that come with the uncertainty of what will happen. Ostensibly, the tariff approach may be designed to try to bring more manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. But automakers and suppliers are not deciding on anything regarding reshoring plants to the U.S. until they have assurances that they have no other options.
