Despite its new role as a regional brand under Stellantis’ “FaSTLAne 2030” business strategy, Dodge is bringing its next-generation Charger muscle cars to European markets.
The announcement marks the storied brand’s 60th anniversary and Stellantis has opened order books for customers eager to enjoy the all-American driving experience, its June 10 release said.
The multi-energy lineup will include the all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona and the ICE powered Sixpack Dodge Charger.
The Dodge Charger will be available in both two-door and four-door body styles, with the R/T and Scat Pack trims across both gasoline and electric versions. All models will be built on Stellantis’ new STLA Large vehicle platform.
The electric Charger Daytona claims the title of Dodge’s fastest and most powerful all-wheel-drive muscle car.
The Charger Daytona represents the all-electric interpretation of next-generation Dodge muscle, delivering high performance through a 100% BEV architecture with standard all-wheel drive. The Daytona Scat Pack stands as the pinnacle of Charger performance, while the Daytona R/T offers a more accessible way to experience the character and capability of Dodge muscle.
In its flagship Daytona Scat Pack configuration, the Charger Daytona has a maximum power output of 670 hp and a 0-to-60mph sprint time sprint of 3.3 seconds with a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds.
Fast-charging performance claims 20% to 80% in about 27 minutes using a DC fast-charging station of up to 350 kW to achieve the vehicle's 183-kW peak charging rate. The high-voltage battery is also covered by an 8-year/160,000-km warranty.
For ICE fans, the Sixpack-powered Dodge Charger features AWD with on-demand rear-wheel-drive mode, which sends 100% of torque to the back wheels at the push of a button.
This model employs a 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline six-cylinder gasoline engine. In the range-topping Scat Pack trim, the Sixpack Dodge Charger claims 550 hp maximum power, a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of 3.9 seconds and the standing quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds, along with increased torque and other enhanced performance capability.
Across both internal-combustion and all-electric variants, the next-generation Charger offers several drive modes to cover everyday driving to sports use by modifying throttle response, steering feel and overall vehicle behavior.
The new Dodge lineup also features a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assist technology, including Level 2 Assisted Driving, Blind Spot Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Drowsy Driver Detection and Automatic Emergency Braking.
“The next-generation Charger brings Dodge muscle into a new era without losing what made it iconic in the first place: attitude, performance and emotional driving,” said Fabio Catone, Dodge head of brand in Europe. “With both all-electric and gasoline-powered versions, the new Charger gives European customers the power to choose their own expression of muscle performance while remaining true to the DNA that defines Dodge,” he added.
Purchasers of new Dodge models will receive a letter of authenticity signed by the brand’s CEO Matt McAlear, certifying it as an official model from the authorized European network, plus a welcome kit box to mark the beginning of their ownership journey. Additionally, early Dodge Charger Daytona EV customers will benefit from special dedicated pricing on the purchase of a home charging station and professional installation by Stellantis subsidiary Free2move.
Pricing starts from 66,000 euros ($76,206) for the entry-level R/T trim models, with the first deliveries expected in September. The Dodge vehicles can be ordered through Stellantis’ European importer KWA and its official dealer network.
