Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has increased its combined port- and dealer-installed accessories sales 87% since 2001. Mazda posted a record June with $7.5 million in sales, taking its total to $34.9 million for the year's first half.

The Genuine Mazda Accessories program lets drivers personalize the look and performance of their vehicles by adding items such as roof racks, bumper step-plates and cargo nets.

“Every accessory Mazda offers provides drivers with a means of creating their own vision of ‘Zoom-Zoom,’” says Jack Stavana, director-accessory operations for MNAO.

For the Mazda RX-8, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata, the company also offers a line of performance MazdaSpeed-branded parts. Nearly a third of Mazda's 700-plus dealers across the country are registered to sell MazdaSpeed accessories.

Those include performance exhaust systems that can improve horsepower, suspension parts and stabilizer bars that flatten out handling, and performance brake parts that increase stopping power while reducing stopping distance.
