Galpin Ford, a huge California dealership, and California Car Cover Company, a mailorder aftermarket accessories company, have partnered to create what they call the nation's first Mobile Office Vehicle.
The OFFICEONE Mobile Office Vehicle is currently being sold as a Ford E150 club wagon and will also be available in an extended Ford E350 model. The vehicle can be sold as an entire package with the installed mobile office or components of the mobile office transferable to other vehicles.
Each mobile office vehicle is equipped with a PV Desk System, a technological package that includes a computer with pop-up screen, high-speed wireless access to the Internet and storage space for a fax machine, scanner, and printer.
The companies say the vehicle meets all federal highway safety standards. The electronic equipment can be stowed away in specially designed compartments with a high-tech locking system.
