BMW AG says it will invest £100 million ($188 million) in its Mini subsidiary plant in Oxford, U.K., creating 200 new jobs.
The investment will upgrade the plant's paint shop, as well as add a new body shop by 2007. The new body shop likely makes way for a new Mini variant, with van or station-wagon derivatives rumored at the top of the list.
BMW wants to boost Mini output from the current 189,000 units annually to more than 200,000 cars by 2007.
