VW to Show Off New Touareg in Beijing

Powertrains include V-6 and V-8 turbodiesels, a gasoline V-6 and, in Europe, a hybrid system that combines the gasoline engine with a 38-kW (52-hp) electric motor.

TURIN – Volkswagen picks China – like the U.S., a hot market for SUVs and CUVs – to pull the curtain back on its revamped Touareg model.

In addition to tweaked front and rear styling, the CUV, classified as a Middle Luxury model in the U.S., gets bi-xenon headlamps, automatic post-collision braking system to avoid secondary impacts and added infotainment features, such as Google Earth mapping and online traffic information.

A new R-Line model adds more spice to the exterior and interior designs.
