Toyota stops car production at its plant in Kolin, Czech Republic, after fire at a local supplier’s plant causes a parts shortage.

The outage is the second this year at the plant that  produces 1,000 cars a day. The Czech Republic is heavily dependent on the auto industry, led by Volkswagen's Škoda brand. Hyundai also has a manufacturing plant in the country.

“We had to stop production yesterday evening. This will of course have an effect on our production plan. It is not clear how long the outage will last,” says Toyota spokesman Tomas Paroubek.
