Škoda releases the first renditions of its latest urban crossover vehicle to be unveiled in March at the Geneva auto show.

Dubbed the Škoda Kamiq, design sketches hint at a muscular SUV-inspired profile but with clear aspirations toward the city driver rather than for the off-road enthusiast.

In a first for the Czech Republic manufacturer, the Kamiq will feature two-part LED headlamps with daytime running lights set in slits above the main headbeams which will boast crystalline effect lenses.

Styling cues from other Škoda SUV models include a wide, upright radiator grille with double slats and a silver-colored front spoiler to underscore the car’s muscular looks.

“In our new Kamiq city SUV we’ve implemented a completely new headlamp configuration,” says Oliver Stefani, Škoda chief designer. “They give the Kamiq a unique appearance and represent another interpretation of our successful (CUV) design language.”
