After wowing us with the Envista small CUV in 2024, Buick returns for the second year in a row to the Wards 10 Best Interiors and UX winners list with the brand’s stunning new Enclave Avenir.
The 3-row large crossover conjures images of the Grecian coast on a summer’s day, given its beautiful ivory and deep-sea-blue cabin.
The ivory ceiling, pillars, floor and seats (technically very pale gray but leaning more white than gray to our judges’ eyes) make a light and airy statement. But it’s the decorative elements in our $64,000 test vehicle that add intrigue: blue door trim and seat piping, satin silver and brass metal accents, hourglass seat stitching and rich brown wood trim. Especially eye-catching are the artfully designed perforated leather trim elements on doors and the IP, which have a fade pattern, as well as the upper-door speaker grilles for the 16-speaker Bose audio system, with a sunburst-like design and a faceted metallic ring. Even the lower doors’ plastic speaker grilles don’t escape designers’ attention, possessing a slanted geometric pattern.
The Enclave Avenir’s technology is equally as impressive as its analog elements.
The 30-in. (76-cm) diagonal display screen is not only huge but boasts crisp, clear graphics and text for good readability while driving. Its infotainment system menus are well-organized and easy to navigate.
Speaking of navigation, the built-in Google Maps earns high marks for its detailed views. There are also other common Google apps here, including News and the Play store. Like most of our 2025 10 Best Interiors & UX winners, including General Motors’ other trophy takers the Cadillac Optiq and GMC Yukon Denali, the operating system is Google’s well-performing Android OS.
The Enclave Avenir also has a multi-color head-up display, with great turn-by-turn detail for when a route is set in Google Maps. And the ease of setting a route deserves a call-out. It’s easily done via the onboard voice assistant, which provides lightning-quick responses to spoken commands, or via a keyboard with letters and numbers on the same screen (even in 2025, some automakers still require toggling between two different keyboards to enter a house number and street name).
Our judges also appreciate the large CUV’s quick and easy phone pairing, accomplished in under 30 seconds; an interior ambient lighting system with dozens of color choices; a roomy center console with not only a deep box under the armrest but also open storage space below the front top level; GM’s available Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology; USB-C ports across all three rows, as well as a 115V AC outlet in the second row; and heated front and second-row seats, plus massaging front seats.
Front- and second-row seats are comfortable, with good padding and lumbar support, and there’s ample legroom in the second row; the third row has plenty of room for kids to stretch out.
Our judges also appreciate the easy-to-fold second-row seats, which make accessing the third row a breeze. A lift lever on the side of second-row seats folds seatbacks down, and a push button moves the collapsed seats forward to create a walkway to the third row.
A generously sized underfloor storage bin and power fold buttons for third-row seats are nice cargo-area features.
Put it all together and the Enclave Avenir, in the words of 10 Best Judge Bob Gritzinger, “strikes all the right chords. This is the lap of premium-ness and puts Buick on another level against the competition.”
