Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd. and sister-company Kia Motors Corp. break ground on their future technical center near Ann Arbor, MI.
Construction began in April. When Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. opens in 2005, it will take the place of a small facility that since 1986 has concentrated solely on U.S. emissions work.
Thecenter represents a $117 million investment over two phases, $56 million of which is for construction.
