Aston Martin continues the iconic DB blood-line with the launch of its new DB12 S flagship performance the automaker calls its ‘Super Tourer’ boasting more power and better handling dynamics.
Riding alongside the automaker’s existing DBX S SUV and the Vantage S, the DB12 S employs an uprated version of Aston Martin’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant claiming 700 PS at 6,000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque delivered between 3,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm, enough to claim a 0-to-62 sprint time of 3.4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 202 mph.
Improvements to handling come courtesy of an extensive package of chassis updates including software changes to the active Bilstein DTX dampers to improve roll and pitch, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar and optimized camber, toe and caster geometry settings.
Exhaust breathing improvements see the DB12 S adopting a new quad tailpipe stainless steel sports exhaust system and also the option of a titanium exhaust system that reduces weight by 11.7 kg compared to the stainless-steel system.
The model comes with carbon ceramic brakes, 410 mm diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear, as standard offering increased braking performance and heat dissipation. These also save 27 kg of unsprung weight compared to steel brakes.
“With DB12 S we have carefully engineered a host of detailed changes, which, preserve signature levels of refinement, boost vehicle performance and amplify driver engagement,” said Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s director of vehicle performance, in a company release.
DB12 S is available to order now, in Coupe and Volante form, with deliveries commencing in Q1 2026. No prices have yet been announced but expect to pay around $275,000.
