A new system is intended to help General Motors Co. dealers with parts shipment information.

Auto/Mate Dealership Systems has integrated GM's Parts WorkBench upgrade with its Automotive Management Productivity Suite.

The enhanced OEM interface allows GM vehicle invoices, as well as weekly and monthly parts statements, to automatically download to the dealership management system, eliminating time spent on data entry of vehicle and parts inventory information.

“With GM's new Parts WorkBench upgrade, we can provide the latest parts shipment information to our GM dealers, and automate the vehicle invoice process,” says Mike Esposito, president and CEO of Auto/Mate. “The less time dealers have to spend on administrative tasks, the more attention they can put on sales.”

The new parts shipment module aims to improve dealer fixed operations by providing dealerships with information on the availability and shipment of parts through electronically sent parts invoices, as well as weekly and monthly parts statements.

The GM Vehicle Invoice module lets dealers automatically receive vehicle invoices on any given day. Auto/Mate receives the invoices from the auto maker electronically, and distributes them to the appropriate dealerships.

“These new and upgraded functions will greatly enhance dealership operations,” says Jim Bement, GM's manager of global retail systems.
