A new 37,000-sq.-ft. Hyundai dealership is open for business in Ohio near owner Stephen Taylor's high-volume Kia store and adjacent Cadillac showroom.

Taylor is the only Cadillac-only dealer with both Korean franchises. The Hyundai store is located in Perrysburg, and the Cadillac and Kia dealerships in Toledo, where Jeep Liberty SUVs are built.

“We added the Kia franchise seven years ago,” says Taylor, “and led Kia in U.S. sales for four straight months this year.

“The Kia building is unique, as is our Cadillac building, and we have gone all out to put in a state-of-the-art Hyundai building.”

The $2.5-million building features high ceilings, elegant lighting fixtures and door knobs with a distinctive “H” shape. The building took a year to complete. “We expect it to be the starting point of a new shopping center and other real estate development,” Taylor says. He also hopes it will help raise Hyundai's name recognition in the region.

Several of the 35 employees at Taylor Hyundai have come from the Kia store, says Steve Taylor Jr., 30, the new dealership's general manager.
