AutoNation Inc. confirms Automated Data Processing Inc. (ADP) will provide website management and hosting services for its 281 stores beginning in January and ending a longtime partnership with Reynolds Web Solutions, a division of the Reynolds and Reynolds Co.

The move follows AutoNation's decision this year to consolidate its dealer-management systems with ADP. While having one firm provide both services makes for easier DMS integration, Gary Marcotte, AutoNation's senior vice president-marketing, tells Ward's the dealership chain is switching because it likes what ADP's Dynamic Suite web tool has to offer.

“It lets us do more with our inventory,” Marcotte says.

The contract with AutoNation indicates ADP may be looking to capture more of the dealership website market, an area of increasing importance as search technology gives dealers the ability to drive more traffic to their websites.
