GM Korea promotes Chief Financial Officer Carlos Zarlenga to CFO for GM Brazil and GM South America, effective Feb. 1.

Zarlenga is replaced as vice president and CFO of GM Korea by Minerva Matibag, who assumes financial responsibility for General Motors operations in Korea, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.

“We are pleased to have Minerva joining us,” says GM Korea President and CEO Sergio Rocha. “(As) GM Korea’s first female CFO, she brings a wealth of experience in finance in Asia/Pacific and North and South America to her important new position.”

Matibag has 15 years of executive experience with GM, having joined the auto maker in 1997. She has held country and regional finance leadership positions in Singapore, Japan and Thailand. She also held leadership roles in global product-development finance in Brazil and the U.S.

Zarlenga is a relative newcomer to GM, joining the company in 2011 after serving as CFO for General Electric in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
