VIENNA – Pol-Mot Warfama S.A., the Polish manufacturer of agricultural tractors and machinery, signs an assembly and distribution agreement with Chinese vehicle maker Hebei Zhongxing Automobile Co. Ltd., also known as ZXAUTO.

According to the contract, Pol-Mot Warfama will sell locally assembled ZXAUTO Grand Tiger extended-cab, 4-wheel-drive pickups in Poland. The agreement may be broadened to allow the company to distribute the vehicles in other European Union countries in the future.

The Polish-assembled Grand Tiger is slated to go on sale in January, and Pol-Mot Warfama expects to find a significant number of customers among farmers.

“Thanks to the signing of the contract, we will be able to offer Polish farmers a universally usable vehicle, which in no way differs from European standards, for a really good price,” Karol Zarajczyk, Pol-Mot Warfama’s vice president and director-economic and financial affairs, says in a prepared statement.

Pol-Mot Warfama earlier this year purchased a 279,800-sq.-ft. (26,000-sq.m) section of a former vehicle plant in Lublin, Poland, to be used for Grand Tiger assembly. Agricultural tractors also will be assembled at the site.

Some ZXAUTO Grand Tiger pickups already have been assembled in Lublin. The Polish versions are powered by a Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd. D4CB 2.5L 4-cyl. diesel engine delivering 170 hp.

Polish Grand Tigers feature a 170-hp Hyundai diesel engine.
