Emerging battery-electric-vehicle maker Automobili Pininfarina has begun appointing a global network of specialist car retailers for its new hyper-performance car.

The Pininfarina Battista BEV is due to launch a limited-edition, 150-vehicle production run in 2020 after its unveiling at next month’s Geneva auto show. So far the automaker has said the first phase of its dealer network rollout has secured relationships with between 25-40 luxury retailers in North America, Europe the Middle East and Asia and it expects to finalize agreements during the course of this year.

Its U.S. sales company claims relationships with luxury and high-performance vehicle specialists in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver. Europe will be served by specialists in Birmingham, Brussels, Düsseldorf, London, Monaco and Stuttgart, with eight further locations currently under discussion.

The automaker says its Asian dealers will be located in Hong Kong and Singapore, while Middle East partners are confirmed in Dubai and Riyadh. Its network for mainland China will be the subject of a separate announcement later this year.

Michael Perschke, CEO, Automobili Pininfarina, says: “We are passionate about the customer journey, the touchpoints and the full Pininfarina experience – our retail specialists fulfill the promise for us around the world and share our passion for Pininfarina’s provenance and the potential of electrification in a luxury brand.”

The Battista, which takes its name from Pininfarina founder Battista “Pinin” Farina, will boast carbon-fiber construction and electric motors, a combined output of 1,900 hp and 1,696 lb.-ft. (2,300 Nm) of torque, enough for a claimed 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint time of less than 2 seconds, 0-186 mph (300 km/h) in less than 12 seconds and a potential zero-emissions range of more than 280 miles (451 km).
