Former Infiniti America Vice President Michael Bartsch is going home as managing director of Volkswagen Group Australia.

VW says Bartsch will start his new job Nov. 1, replacing John White, who is taking early retirement from the VW Group and returning to Canada for family reasons.

Bartsch, an Australian, has been based in the U.S. for the past 10 years.

He previously was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Porsche Cars North America. Before that he headed sales and marketing for Porsche Cars Australia.

White started with VW Group in 1993 and previously held positions within the group in the U.S. and Canada. Before his move to Australia, White was president and CEO of VW Canada.
