FRANKFURT, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Volkswagen AG and Proton Holdings Bhd have agreed on a partnership deal to assemble the German carmaker's vehicles in Malaysia for sale in southeast Asia, Volkswagen said on Tuesday.
It said it would not take an equity stake in Proton as part of the deal, which envisions launching the first locally-assembled VW models in Malaysia by the end of 2005 generating sales of over 15,000 units in 2006.
