French brand Citroën releases the first images of its new compact crossover coupé destined to compete in the emerging markets of South America and India.

The Citroën Basalt Vision, a new compact SUV Coupé concept, will join the brand's ranges in these growth markets in the second half of 2024. The crossover’s design hopes to attract sports enthusiasts who want the robust capabilities and ground clearance of a SUV.

Developed in league with design and engineering teams at headquarters in both regions, the vehicle joins the C3 and C3 Aircross already selling in the markets.

All three models are based on the same Smart Car platform specifically aimed at customers in these markets. Thierry Koskas, Citroën CEO, says: “We are delighted to unveil the third opus of the program designed to drive Citroën’s international growth. Developed and produced locally, we are confident that Basalt Vision will appeal to a large number of customers and strengthen our position in major markets.”
