British brand Vauxhall releases teaser images of a new sporty battery-electric concept vehicle it plans to unveil at next month’s IAA Mobility 2025 auto show in Munich.
The as-yet-unnamed car it will wear the brand’s GSE performance moniker used for decades on models that are tuned for performance.
Vauxhall, along with its Stellantis-owned German sister brand Opel, unveiled its performance Mokka GSE in July claiming a maximum power output of 280 hp and torque of 254 ft.-lb. (344 Nm) resulting in a 0-to-62 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint time of 59 seconds on the way to a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h), but there have been no specifications released or plans announced of series production for the Munich BEV.
The concept vehicle claims a radical redesign inspired by the Opel Manta 400 Group B rally car of the 1980s and is the creation of Vauxhall’s Mark Adams, vice president of design.
During the design process, a greater focus was placed on aerodynamics to improve range and performance, Vauxhall says in a release. Key design elements of the vehicle include an illuminated name badge, a slim race car-inspired steering wheel, a visible roll cage in the cabin and wheels with truncated triangular elements.
