Peugeot Designers Getting Into Training

Canadian train manufacturer Bombardier has tapped Peugeot’s Global Brand Design Lab to reset its design language and improve its brand awareness among consumers.

Peugeot’s car designers have turned their hands to train interior and exteriors in a joint venture with Bombardier Transportation.

The Canadian train manufacturer has tapped Peugeot’s Global Brand Design Lab to reset its design language and improve its brand awareness among consumers. This new product identity is to be revealed at the international InnoTrans exhibition for Transport Technology in Berlin.

Teams from both Peugeot and Bombardier have been working for a year to create a brand book “which defines the identity, vision and brand image for this leading railway mobility provider,” a joint statement says. Probably the most visual aspect of the redesign is a “Speed Collar” at the front of the train to give Bombardier’s products a unique face.

“We are very proud to support Bombardier Transportation in this strategic initiative,” says Cathal Loughnane, head of Peugeot Design Lab. “It is a unique opportunity for us to apply the 130-plus years of Peugeot’s mobility experience to the rail industry.”
