VIENNA – Litex Motors, the Bulgarian joint venture in which Chinese auto maker Great Wall holds a minority stake, assembles its first pilot car.
Serial production of the Great Wall Voleex C10 hatchback begins early next year at Litex’s new factory in the village of Bakhovitsa, near the city of Lovech, about 93 miles (150km) northeast of the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
In addition to the Voleex C10, the JV will build Hover SUVs and Steed double-cab pickup trucks.
Plans call for assembly of up to 50,000 vehicles a year.
Bulgaria-made Great Wall vehicles will be exported to various European countries.
