Lexus is targeting serious off-road fanatics with its special range of custom bolt-ons exclusively for the North American market which debuted at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Six factory specification specials were featured, including each generation of the GX and the latest LX 600 models, together with a wide range of products from AAP, the Lexus Associated Accessory Product program for the U.S.
All are focused on making a weekend rough-road tour as luxurious an experience as possible starting with the Lexus GX 460 Premium AAP Build. Shown in a custom matte yellow saffron-colored body wrap, the show model has 34-in. ToyoOpen Country all-terrain tires on 18-in. wheels. CBI Offroad rock sliders and a full skid plate allow driving over rugged off-road surfaces.
For those looking for an off-grid overlanding tour, there is a Kammok Roo double hammock with a bespoke stand. There’s a 2.4 cu.-ft. (68 L) fridge-freezer to keep those essential food and drinks at the perfect temperature. An ARB12V portable air compressor, Weekender Recovery Kit and TRED Pro recovery boards are also included and extra equipment storage is provided by a Prinsu rear window accessory panel.
Walking up the range, there’s the Lexus LX 600 Premium AAP Build in custom aquamarine body wrap. It features a matte gray grille, black chrome window trim, black door handles and door mirrors, black chrome bumper trim, dark gray roof rails and 18-in. matte gray alloy wheels with 33-in. Toyota all-terrain tires.
It’s also equipped with drive control and assistance features including multi-terrain modes, terrain monitor, crawl control and downhill assist. A quick-deploying Kammokawning provides protection from harsh weather conditions and there is a Yakima camp kitchen bundle for meal preparation. Completing the outdoor activity experience are a Yakima rooftop stand-up paddleboard and surfboard mount, located on a Prinsuroof rack.
For the more sports-oriented outdoors customers there’s the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail+ AAP Build with a 2-tone exterior color combination of earth and black. Standard features include 33-in. Toyo Open Country A/T tires on 18-in. wheels, black accented over-fenders, an aluminum skid plate and all-weather floor liners.
On top of standard features, the show model is upgraded with Lexus AAP items including Lexus-badged rock rails, an on-board tire compressor, a Prinsuroof rack, Pelican cargo case and Prinsu rear window accessory panels. A Prinsu ladder is also fitted for roof access.
