Genesis, the Hyundai Motor Group’s luxury brand, announces U.S. pricing for the ’23 Electrified GV70 will start at $65,850.

The CUV will be assembled at Montgomery, AL, making it the first Genesis to be built outside of South Korea. It is Genesis’ third battery-electric vehicle, following the GV60 CUV and Electrified G80 midsize luxury sedan.

Built on the GV70 platform, the Electrified GV70 has advanced all-wheel drive, class-leading standard equipment and technologies and Genesis’ entire suite of safety and advanced driver-assistance systems, Genesis says. The CUV’s drivetrain includes 160-kW front and rear electric motors and a 77.4-kWh battery.

The ‘23 Genesis Electrified GV70 Prestige AWD, priced at $72,650, adds Nappa leather seating surfaces, a leatherette-wrapped upper instrument panel, microfiber suede headliner, head-up display, a 3D instrument cluster, premium audio, heated second-row seats and steering wheel and manual rear door shades.

More details regarding availability will be made available closer to the launch date. Genesis has neither announced a launch date nor specified delivery charges..

“The Electrified GV70 represents two important milestones as we continue on our journey toward full electrification by 2030,” Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, says in a news release. “We are pleased to not only be growing our electric product portfolio, but also to be assembling Genesis products right here in America for the very first time.”

Genesis has pledged that all new models launched will be all-electric starting in 2025, and that its entire vehicle lineup will be electric by 2030. The automaker is working to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations by 2035.
