Spanish car sales drop in May

MADRID, June 3 (Reuters) - New car sales in Spain fell to 128,911 in May, down 6.2 percent from the same month a year earlier, the National Association of Car Makers (ANFAC) said on Monday.

For the first five months of the year, car sales dropped 7.2 percent to 574,510 units, ANFAC said in a statement.

Sales of four-wheel-drive vehicles rose 1.5 percent to 6,737 in May, but cumulative sales for the first five months of the year dropped 9.6 percent to 30,195, it said.
