Isuzu, Mitsubishi to deepen ties in Thai truck business

TOKYO, June 3 (Reuters) - Troubled Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd and Japan's biggest trading company, Mitsubishi Corp , said on Monday they would strengthen their ties in the pick-up truck business in Thailand.

The two firms said they would announce details of the cooperation at 3.30 p.m. (0630 GMT).

Isuzu, the weakest of Japan's four truck makers, last year embarked on a drastic restructuring, which will include the sale of its headquarters building, a plant closure and a 34-percent reduction in jobs.

The company, 49 percent owned by General Motors Corp , last month reported its third straight annual net loss, hit by weak demand for commercial vehicles at home.
