TURIN, June 3 (Reuters) - Italian new car sales fell more than 10 percent in May in year-on-year terms, sector sources told Reuters on Monday.
"Indications from sector operators show the market also declined in May, with a fall in sales of more than 10 percent," said a source.
The other source expects a double-digit decline in the May car sales.
Official data is due to be released on June 5.
Overall new car registrations in Italy fell 13.36 percent year-on-year in April to 191,300, the fourth month in a row that sales in the euro zone's number three economy have fallen.
In Italy, automaker Fiat holds the largest share of the market.
