Thailand Market Leader Toyota Promotes From Within

The executives promoted include Pravena Nuntikulvanich, the highest-ranking member of the automaker’s top management.

Toyota’s domination of the local auto market in Thailand is reflected in the promotions of three nationals to oversee the Thai subsidiary’s three main functions – finance, marketing and manufacturing.

Toyota Thailand says senior vice president Chatchai Taveesakulvadchara, now becomes executive vice president with responsibilities including heading the accounting and finance subdivision, internal-audit and ethics-promotion office and corporate strategic planning division.

Vudhigorn Suriyachantananont becomes executive vice president with responsibilities including the public relations and sustainable-development departments and the marketing division.

Apinont Suchewaboripont becomes executive vice present in charge of manufacturing, quality assurance and manufacturing support divisions.

The company also promotes two locals as vice presidents.

Pravena Nuntikulvanich, now general manager-finance and accounting department, becomes vice president-finance and accounting departments.

Charoenchai Yingcharoonkit, general manager-Samrong plant, is promoted to vice president- manufacturing at the Ban Pho plant.

Toyota Thailand President Kyoichi Tanada says the company has a pool of talented Thais who are ready to become high-level executives.

“This is the first time for the company to appoint Thai executive vice presidents for all key operations,” Tanada says in a statement. “It is also the first time that we will welcome a female executive (Nuntikulvanich).”
