Nissan announces pricing for the ’23 battery-electric Leaf 4-door hatchback now on sale nationwide.

The Leaf S with 40-kWh battery and EPA-estimated range of 149 miles (240 km) is priced at $27,800, while the Leaf SV Plus with 60-kWh battery and EPA-estimated 212 miles (341 km) of range is priced at $35,800. Prices do not include $1,095 for destination and handling, but qualified buyers may be eligible for a maximum federal tax credit of $7,500.

Nissan unveiled a facelifted Leaf at the New York auto show in April after refreshing the BEV just a year earlier amid competition from the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen ID.4 and Tesla Model 3. The update gave both Leaf models a Level 3 fast-charging port, improved aerodynamics and Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 active driver-assistance technologies. The SV Plus comes with ProPILOT Assist and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

The ’23 Leaf also features a redesigned grille, front fascia and headlights, and available 17-in. multi-spoke wheels. Inside is new black cloth seating upholstery with gray finishers on the S grade or gloss black finishers on SV PLUS.

“Leaf continues to deliver on its promise of quality, innovation and value,” Aditya Jairaj, director-EV marketing and sales, Nissan U.S., says in a news release “A competitive price point paired with a host of standard technology features and refreshed design makes Nissan LEAF a truly attractive option for anyone considering an EV.”

The Leaf is assembled in Smyrna, TN.
