Infiniti Takes Wraps Off QX55 Luxury CUV

Available in Luxe, Essential and Sensory grades, the 2022-model-year QX55 arrives in the U.S. and Canada in spring 2021, with other key markets to follow shortly after.

Infiniti reveals the all-new QX55 midsize luxury CUV Tuesday evening during a streaming concert featuring retro soul singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc in Los Angeles.

“The new Infiniti QX55 is a statement-maker, designed to deliver first-class comfort and stand out everywhere it goes. It’s a unique fusion of style and substance,” says Infiniti Chairman Peyman Kargar.

Available in Luxe, Essential and Sensory grades, the 2022-model-year QX55 arrives in the U.S. and Canada in spring 2021, with other key markets to follow shortly after.

Described as the “spiritual successor” to the Infiniti FX, the QX55’s design retains all of the Nissan luxury brand’s design cues, “delivering a fresh interpretation of the FX silhouette,” Infiniti says.

The new QX55 is powered by a Variable Compression Turbo 4-cyl. making 268 hp and 280 lb.-ft. (380 Nm) of torque and harnessed to a continuously variable transmission with manual shift mode.

All-wheel drive is standard on all QX55 models in the U.S. and Canada. A drive mode selector provides programmable settings (Standard, Eco, Sport and Personal) to tailor each drive.

Inside (below), the QX55 features Infiniti’s dual-screen, InTouch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility and multiple USB inputs for Android Auto compatibility and charging. The upper 8-in. (20-cm) and lower 7-in. (18-cm) high-resolution screens inform and entertain with an available Bose audio system delivered through up to 16 speakers.

The interior also offers a choice of leatherette, leather or semi-aniline leather for the seats, and sliding second-row seats provide flexible cargo capacity or increased legroom.
