Pre-Owned Dealer Alliance Is Formed

A new business organization aims to help the used-vehicle efforts of franchised and independent dealers.

That includes thousands of General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LCC dealers being cut by their auto makers. Many of those dealers indicate they will shift to used-car retailing.

They would be a key group to benefit from the Pre-Owned Automobile Dealers Alliance, says Bill Zadeits, executive vice president of Cherokee Automotive Group, creator of the alliance. “POADA's goal is to make that transition as smooth and profitable as possible.”

He emphasizes POADA is not an association, but a business alliance for dealers who focus on selling late-model vehicles.
