Most customers using the Internet for car shopping know what they want when they enter a dealership, according to a study by Claria, an online marketing firm. It says its research shows 63% of those consumers knew which type of vehicle they wanted to purchase, and only consider that type. Most customers using the Internet for car shopping know what they want when they enter a dealership, according to a study by Claria, an online marketing firm.

It says its research shows 63% of those consumers knew which type of vehicle they wanted to purchase, and only consider that type.

Fifty-four percent of respondents decide on a make and brand of vehicle after shopping and researching different makes and brands.

Another survey finding: 58% say price is the most important factor in making a vehicle purchase. Other important factors include vehicle size (51%), auto maker reputation (48%) and vehicle design and style (46%).
