Most customers using the Internet for car shopping know what they want when they enter a dealership, according to a study by Claria, an online marketing firm.
It says its research shows 63% of those consumers knew which type of vehicle they wanted to purchase, and only consider that type.
Fifty-four percent of respondents decide on a make and brand of vehicle after shopping and researching different makes and brands.
Another survey finding: 58% say price is the most important factor in making a vehicle purchase. Other important factors include vehicle size (51%), auto maker reputation (48%) and vehicle design and style (46%).
