TOKYO – This month’s auto show here will mark a product assault from Suzuki Motor Corp., which plans to unveil three concept cars and one near-production model, to go along with the Japan debut of its all-new Splash.
Among the concepts is the Kizashi 2, a cross/utility vehicle powered by Suzuki’s 3.6L V-6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Rounding out the trio is the X-Head and the SSC. The X-Head is a concept 4x4 powered by a 1.4L engine and seating two people. The SSC is designed to carry a pair of personal mobility vehicles and has doors that open upwards on all four sides.
On the near-production front is the Palette concept, slightly longer than the current Wagon R model.
The Splash, a new 4-door hatchback, made its debut at the Frankfurt auto show last month. Powered by 1.0L and 1.2L gasoline engines, the car will be introduced to the European market next spring. The model will be built by Magyar Suzuki Corp. in Esztergom, Hungary.
