A long-established remarketing provider, Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) of Solon, OH, is now owned by Atlanta-based DataScan Technologies, which furnishes wholesale floorplan finance accounting and risk management systems throughout the U.S.
“One of the chief functions of DataScan,” says its president and CEO, Tom Martin, “is to perform floorplan audits at dealerships for financial institutions and banks. VIS has a nationwide network of field inspectors who can assist us with these activities.”
VIS performs off-lease vehicle inspections, physical damage checks, pre-warranty inspections and certified pre-owned vehicle assessments using Internet-based technology.
Founded in 1983, VIS is one of the nation's largest inspection firms. DataScan was established in 1989 and pioneered wholesale finance systems. Jim Ferzoco, VIS president and CEO, declines to disclose terms of the sale to DataScan.
