Industry veteran Filippo Perini is joining Genesis as chief designer at the Hyundai luxury brand’s Genesis Advanced Design Studio in Europe.
Perini begins at Genesis on Sept. 16. The company says the appointment leverages his expertise in advanced and production design, as well as in leading design teams in streamlining digital design processes.
He has been head of design and design innovation at Italdesign.
Perini also was head of design and head of exterior and interior design at Lamborghini, senior designer at Audi and a designer at Alfa Romeo.
Hyundai Chief Design Officer Luc Donckerwolke says Perini’s experience with European luxury brands makes him an ideal fit to lead the Genesis Advanced Design Studio.
He says in a statement Perini is a seasoned, world-class designer who has spent decades shaping high-performance vehicles on behalf of premium and luxury brands alike.
“His insight will be instrumental for the development of each of our upcoming projects, including both advanced and production designs,” Donckerwolke says. “His strongest skill is interpreting a brand’s essence and presenting ideas to consumers in well-edited, timeless executions.”
