Fiat’s new Doblo Trekking passenger van, unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show this week, is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.
Based on the recently released Doblo small van, the Trekking boasts a number of features not found on the standard model, including the “Traction+” traction-control system and a hill-hold function.
The automaker says Traction+ increases traction on difficult terrains and is less expensive than traditional all-wheel-drive systems.
The Doblo Trekking’s exterior receives side molding with the “Trekking” logo, 16-in. alloy rims, new front and rear bumpers and a raised chassis with an under-engine guard. The model also comes with a unique color, Bronzo Magnetico.
Inside, the Trekking has a new dashboard, seats and door panels wrapped in eco-leather. A rear storage space also is added, as is an optional compartment in the front.
Other features include a manual climate-control system, fog lights, retractable rear-view mirrors, a front armrest, a repositionable rear shelf, front and side airbags, a rear-seat monitoring mirror and privacy glass.
Optional equipment includes rear-parking sensors, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, a leather gearbox cover, roof rails and the UConnect infotainment system with navigation.
The Doblo Trekking comes available with a number of engine choices, including two 1.4L gasoline engines producing 95 hp and 120 hp, and two 1.6L turbodiesels making 90 hp and 105 hp. A 2.0L turbodiesel also is offered.
