Executive Summary

VIENNAChrysler Rus, the auto maker’s national sales company in Russia, takes over distribution of Fiat cars and light-commercial vehicles in the country.

Russian auto maker Sollers was responsible for Fiat distribution between 2006 and 2011. Sollers also manufactured or assembled Fiat cars and LCVs at its plants in Naberezhnye Chelny and Elabuga.

Following the creation of a 50/50 joint venture between Sollers and Ford, which was announced in February 2011 and finalized last fall, Fiat started looking for other ways to sell its vehicles in Russia.

Fiat reported 28,254 deliveries of light vehicles last year in Russia, up 28.8% from like-2010. The Italian auto maker ranked No.20 in sales with a 1.1% market share.
