Chevrolet Takes Lead on Most-Seen Auto Ads Chart

On top for the week of May 21 is a Chevrolet ad that features real couples who recently began dating. A spokesman shows them a series of Chevys (the Trax, Equinox and Traverse), each fit for a certain relationship stage.

Chevrolet takes both the lead and third place in iSpot.tv’s ranking of the most-viewed automotive commercials – the ads that have racked up the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings.

On top for the week of May 21 is a Chevrolet ad that features real couples who recently began dating. A spokesman shows them a series of Chevys (the Trax, Equinox and Traverse), each fit for a certain relationship stage: moving in together, having their first child and, finally, expanding their family to include multiple kids and dogs.

An enduring spot for Honda’s ’18 Clarity that has been on and off the chart for weeks slips to second place. This hybrid model has a 340-mile (544-km) range, so, as the ad points out, even if the battery runs out drivers will be able to keep going thanks to a backup gasoline engine.

Chevy is back to take third place, this time with a Memorial Day sales event spot featuring real Silverado truck owners sharing stories of the tight spots their vehicles have gotten into – and showing off the “scars” to prove it.

Range Rover’s No. 4 commercial suggests its ’18 Velar can command respect from even the most ferocious pack of dogs on a spooky night, while Infiniti rounds out the top five with its spot for the QX50 in which a couple races to make a showing of “Avengers: Infinity War.”
