More than 1 million people are expected in metro Detroit this weekend to celebrate the automobile in its classic form. Some 40,000 meticulously maintained or lovingly restored vintage cars will be participating in the annual Woodward Dream Cruise along the thoroughfare connecting Detroit to its northern suburbs. The event, which began in 1995, officially is on Saturday, but these vehicles were out Thursday after the rain stopped.
