Ford offered up its heaviest-duty trucks last week for a worthy cause: to move mulch in helping out Detroit-based Wolverine Human Services, the largest child-serving agency in Michigan.Two burly dump trucks, a four-door F-650 with a 6.8L Triton gasoline V-10 and a two-door F-550 with a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V-8, were loaded with mulch and driven by journalists to the organization’s newly planted apple orchard, greenhouse and playground. Once the loads were dumped, volunteers spread it where needed.
