Lincoln First to Offer Pickup, Delivery Service

&ldquo;Our dealers view this as a way to differentiate the client experience for Lincoln owners,&rdquo; says Andrew Frick, Lincoln North American director-sales and services.&nbsp;

Some luxury dealerships individually offer to pick up and deliver customer cars scheduled for service work, but Lincoln says it now is the first auto first brand to do so.  

Lincoln Service Valet will pick up a vehicle at an agreed location, provide a complimentary Lincoln loaner vehicle and then take the customer’s vehicle to the dealership for service.

Once complete, clients can arrange for their washed and serviced vehicle to be returned to them at the location of their choice. 

“Lincoln Pickup and Delivery service revolves around complementing our luxury vehicles with outstanding luxury experiences,” says Andrew Frick, Lincoln North American director-sales and services.

Ford’s luxury brand has piloted the program with select dealers since May, 2015. Calling test results “overwhelming,” Lincoln says:

  • 98% of clients indicate they would be more likely to receive service from that Lincoln dealer in the future.
  • 98% would recommend Lincoln and the service to a friend.
  • 93% are likely to purchase another Lincoln vehicle.

“Our dealers view this as a way to differentiate the client experience for Lincoln owners,” says Frick.

He adds: “When nearly 100% of clients receiving this service say they would recommend Lincoln to a friend, it clearly indicates positive momentum for the brand and our dealers.”

Spearheaded by CEO Mark Fields, Ford has sought to reenergize the Lincoln brand. It sold 101,227 vehicles last year, up 7.1% over 2014, according to WardsAuto. On the other hand, fellow luxury brand BMW had four times the sales in 2015.

Since the revitalization program began four years ago, Lincoln has delivered four all-new products, established a dealer network in China and increased sales year by year.

Lincoln says the pickup and delivery service comes at the “perfect time” as the brand prepares to launch the all-new ’17 Continental as a flagship vehicle this fall.
