Chevrolet Again Tops Most-Seen Auto Ads Chart

Atop the list for the week of Dec. 4-10 is a spot showing Chevrolet celebrating the holidays with special offers.

For a second straight week, Chevrolet tops the list of the most-viewed automotive commercials – the ads that have racked up the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings – as compiled by WardsAuto and iSpot.tv.

Atop the list for the week of Dec. 4-10 is a spot showing Chevrolet celebrating the holidays with special offers. Customers can get the official Chevy employee discount on most ’17 models or get a lease on the ’18 Equinox for $199/month.

In the No.2 spot, Hyundai says the best deals of the season are available with the Hyundai Holidays Sales Event.

Third place goes to Mitsubishi, which promotes the Outlander and Outlander Sport CUVs. Customers can get $3,500 cash back and no payments for 90 days, or interest-free financing for 84 months. This ad has the best iSpot Attention Index (161) in our ranking, getting 61% fewer interruptions than the average auto ad (interruptions include changing the channel, pulling up the guide, fast-forwarding or turning off the TV).

Mazda maintains its hold on No. 4 with a commercial narrated by actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), who proclaims, “Gifts crafted by human hands move us the most.” Now through Jan. 2 customers can get special offers on the ’18 Mazda CX-9 and’17 Mazda CX-5.

Fifth place goes to Ford, which advertises its F-150 truck equipped with Pro Trailer Backup Assist. For a limited time during the automaker’s Year End Sales Event, customers can get zero-interest financing for 72 months.

TV Impressions - Total TV ad impressions delivered for the brand or spot.

Attention Index - Represents the Attention of a specific creative or program placement vs the average. The average is represented by a score of 100, and the total index range is from 0 through 200. For example, an attention index of 125 means that there are 25% fewer interrupted ad plays compared to the average.
Est. National TV Spend - Amount spent on TV airings for the brand’s spots.
