Cherokee, Ram Pickup, 200 Sedan Among Drivers for Chrysler in November

The revamped Chrysler 200 midsize sedan appears to be catching on with buyers, as sales jumped 164.9% daily to 14,317 units, marking the car&rsquo;s best November ever.

Chrysler Group says its November sales, up 25.3% on a daily-rate basis on volume of 170,839 units, marks its best result for the month since 2001.

The tally includes 41,519 cars, up 26.0% by volume, and 129,320 trucks, up 18%.

Among performances worth noting:

  • The revamped Chrysler 200 midsize sedan appears to be catching on with buyers, as sales jumped 164.9% daily to 14,317 units, marking the car’s best November ever. There was one less selling day this year (25), than in 2013.
  • U.S. Alfa Romeo sales are under way, with the first 24 4C models delivered in the month.
  • The Fiat brand managed a 5.2% gain daily for the month, driven by the bigger 500L model, up 25.1%.
  • Jeep continues to post strong results, but most of the brand’s 31.6% rise in November was attributable to the Cherokee, up 73.3% daily, according to WardsAuto data. The Grand Cherokee recorded a more modest 7.6% gain.
  • The Ram pickup continues to perform, with sales up 28.1% daily. Also helping the brand in November was the ProMaster Van, with volume up 313.2% on 3,290 units. November was the 55th straight month of year-over-year gains for the fullsize pickup.
  • Dodge eked out a 5.5% gain daily, but sales of its core Dart model improved 44.5% from year-ago on 9,012 units.
